The Myth of “Being Healed”

Let’s talk about healing. You know that idea that one day we’ll wake up, and poof —all our limiting beliefs will be gone, like a bad dream after a night of restless sleep? Well, let’s just say, that’s a charming little fairy tale. Spoiler alert: it’s a myth!

I recently had a conversation with a lovely soul who said, “I don’t want to have any limiting beliefs anymore.” And I had to gently remind her that believing we can completely eliminate limiting beliefs is one of the biggest limiting beliefs of all! Healing isn’t a one-and-done deal. It’s more like a rollercoaster ride: full of ups, downs, and unexpected twists that make you question your life choices.

The Healing Process: A Dance of Expansion and Contraction

Picture this: you’re expanding—yay, growth! You’re clearing out some limiting beliefs and feeling on top of the world. But then, just when you think you’ve reached the top, life hands you another limiting belief to clear. It’s like the universe is playing a game of hide-and-seek with your growth.

We’re not broken pieces waiting to be fixed; we’re beautifully complex beings in a constant state of evolution. Each step we take toward healing is like an artful dance—sometimes graceful, sometimes clumsy, but always moving forward. And guess what? It’s perfectly okay to embrace the messiness of it all.

Wisdom in Our Wounds: The Healer's Journey

As healers, we find wisdom in our wounds and use that understanding as medicine to support others process. So here’s the truth: we’re not *really* helping others; we’re holding space for them. True healers know that we’re all wounded in our own way, and this shadow side often carries a lot of taboo. But let’s be real: there’s never a state of arrival.

This may come as a shock, but healers are in a continual process of becoming. Trustworthy healers constantly do their own inner work, illuminating their shadows and studying their egos. This practice allows us to support others in their journeys with integrity, depth, and heart.

Healers, mystics, seers, oracles, and shamans go through cycles of death and rebirth. We often glamorize the idea of a perfect guru to follow, reducing their journeys to spiritual concepts. And honestly? That’s a bit messed up.

There is an initiatory process that can be as serious and real as life and death. Knowing oneself as a wounded healer keeps us humble and grounded, allowing us to be clear channels—what we call a “hollow bone”used as instruments of serenity and healing, rather than instruments of the ego or mind.

Tethered to Humanity

Being a healer isn’t about transcending this world; it’s about remaining deeply connected to it and to our own humanity. This is what it means to be a bridge between worlds. When we navigate these realms, we gain a profound understanding of both light and darkness, often brushing against the edge of insanity.

Many sensitive souls I meet express feeling a little “crazy” at times, and it’s about finding our way back to wholeness. You don’t need to be “healed” in order to be a healer. The path of a healer is not a path of arrival; it’s a continual becoming. This journey requires a strong commitment to ourselves and our growth.

Finding Your Tribe

So, let’s ditch the pressure to be “perfectly healed” and instead embrace the beauty of being a work in progress. It’s vital to find our tribe, our community, where we can share our experiences and support one another in our journeys. Healing is a rollercoaster, and while we may not always enjoy the ride, we can choose to appreciate the view—and have each other to hold on to along the way.

Finding your tribe is essential on this journey, and that’s precisely what my advanced Reiki training program, the Intuitive Alchemy offers every year. Over four transformative months, you will delve deep into the inner workings of Levels 1, 2, and 3 of Reiki, enhancing your practice and raising your vibration.

As we peel back the layers, we facilitate a process of expansion and contraction, gaining insight into our energetic selves—recognizing both our strengths and areas for growth.

This journey goes beyond a traditional Reiki training; it equips you with invaluable tools for life. I will share various techniques and supports that you can integrate into your everyday experiences.
